A New Jersey federal judge on Tuesday denied another request by Hartz Mountain Corp. to fully dismiss a putative class action brought by pet owners alleging its spot-on flea management product contains harmful pesticides and has been red-flagged by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

A New Jersey federal judge on Thursday trimmed five putative class actions against manufacturers of flea treatments for pets, dismissing claims he said should have been brought under product liability laws and keeping only breach of warranty claims.
