Acadia Healthcare Co. Inc. escaped a shareholder class action Monday when a Massachusetts federal judge granted the company summary judgment, saying shareholders failed to support damage claims because they ultimately made money on the subject 2011 merger.

Behavioral health services providers Acadia Healthcare Co. Inc. and PHC Inc. have failed in their attempt to rid themselves of shareholder actions over their May merger, with a Massachusetts federal judge ruling Friday that the suits could proceed with most elements intact.
