A New Jersey federal judge Thursday released Johnson Matthey Inc. from Shire LLC's suit accusing it of infringing patents on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug Vyvanse, nearly four months after the Federal Circuit ruled Johnson Matthey could not be held liable for supplying generics makers with ingredients.

A New Jersey federal judge has refused to compel Shire LLC to return privileged documents to Johnson Matthey Inc. in Shire's case accusing the company of infringing patents on its attention deficit hyperactivity disorder drug Vyvanse, saying in an opinion unsealed Thursday that the defendants had not taken reasonable precautions to prevent the inadvertent disclosure.
