The lead attorney for lawn and garden products company Encap LLC was slammed with a $13,500 sanction Friday in Wisconsin federal court for violating a patent prosecution bar in Encap's seed-related patent litigation against The Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. LLC.

Lawn and garden products company Encap LLC sued The Scotts Miracle-Gro Co. LLC in Wisconsin federal court Monday, accusing it of infringing mulch and seed-related patents and misappropriating trade secrets from a confidential 2002 memorandum.
