A New Hampshire federal judge Thursday preserved hospitals' allegations that the state's Medicaid reimbursement reductions are prohibited under the U.S. Constitution's supremacy clause and called on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to help resolve the dispute.

A New Hampshire federal judge refused Friday to toss claims challenging the state's cuts to Medicaid under the U.S. Constitution's supremacy clause, saying they required further argument after the U.S. Supreme Court declined to rule on similar claims in Douglas v. Independent Living Center of Southern California Inc.
