Barnes & Noble Inc. and software firm LSI Corp. have agreed to end roughly three years of litigation centering on claims that the bookseller's Nook e-reader infringed on several LSI patents covering memory and music chip technology, according to Monday filings in Pennsylvania federal court.

Barnes & Noble Inc. was hit with a patent infringement suit Wednesday accusing the bookseller's Nook e-reader of violating a host of patents held by software company Agere Systems Inc. covering memory and music chip technology.
