The allegations underpinning the National Basketball Association's preemptive antitrust case against its locked-out players' union are "frankly very thin," the New York federal judge overseeing the case said Wednesday.

The National Basketball Players Association said Wednesday that the NBA's class action jumped the gun by prematurely seeking a ruling that the league's lockout over negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement did not violate antitrust laws.
