A Delaware federal judge on Tuesday ended a suit over whether Verizon Wireless, AT&T Inc.'s mobile unit and other wireless giants infringed on Mayfair Wireless LLC's patent for technology that connects cellphones to the Internet, finding the plaintiff's right to assert the patent was questionable.

A wireless patent-licensing company hit AT&T Mobility LLC, Sprint Nextel Corp., T-Mobile USA Inc. and a Verizon subsidiary with a suit Friday in Delaware federal court, claiming the companies offer smartphones that infringe its patent dealing with Internet access.
