A Washington federal judge on Thursday nixed National Football Scouting Inc.'s copyright infringement claim against reporter Rob Rang over his use of the company's scouting reports in stories analyzing NFL prospects, but left to a jury the question of whether the scouting reports are a protected trade secret.

Sports Reporter Stole NFL Scouting Reports: Suit
National Football Scouting Inc., which researches colleges football players for many NFL teams, sued sports reporter Rob Rang on Wednesday in Washington federal court alleging he published proprietary, copyrighted information from scouting reports.
