Seven metals mining companies struck a deal Tuesday to pay the U.S. and the Coeur d'Alene Indian tribe a total of $208,500 to end a suit that originally sought $4 million for cleanup costs and natural resource damage in the Coeur d'Alene River Basin in Idaho.

The U.S. and the Coeur d'Alene tribe sued seven mining companies Thursday seeking more than $4 million for cleanup costs and natural resource damages at a Superfund site in northern Idaho.
