A New York federal judge signed off on a nearly $5 million settlement Tuesday in the U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust case against Morgan Stanley related to derivative agreements the bank entered with KeySpan Corp. and a competing energy company.

Amid complaints from the AARP and a state regulatory board, the U.S. Justice Department on Tuesday asked a New York federal court to approve a $4.8 million settlement with Morgan Stanley over a KeySpan Corp. derivative contract that allegedly drove up energy prices.
