Argus Energy LLC has settled a lawsuit filed by the Sierra Club and other environmental groups accusing the coal mining company of dumping toxic chemicals into West Virginia waterways in violation of the Clean Water Act, according to court documents filed Wednesday.

Three environmental groups sued mining company Argus Energy LLC on Tuesday, saying it continues to dump toxic selenium into West Virginia waterways and that state regulators are doing nothing to stop it.
