Yahoo Inc. will be forced to fight patent infringement claims over its messenger technology on two fronts following a Delaware federal judge's Wednesday ruling that the original suit brought by Pragmatus AV could not be transferred to California, where a similar suit is pending.

Yahoo Inc. was sued Tuesday by an intellectual property licensing group that claims the Internet company infringed a set of patents for use in its Yahoo Messenger online chat service.
