The U.S Department of Defense and an Iraqi shipping contractor asked a Washington federal court Thursday for an exit from a shareholder's suit seeking to block their bid to renegotiate rates on $87 million worth of trucking contracts, saying the shareholder is not a party to the contracts.

An Iraqi shipping company sued the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington federal court Friday, hoping to block the military from renegotiating the rates on $87 million worth of trucking contracts after the company objected to a 10 percent cap on profits.
