The U.S. Department of Justice urged a Washington federal judge Friday to keep Grupo Bimbo SAB de CV from further delaying its court-ordered divestiture of parts of its Sara Lee bread business to Flowers Foods Inc. despite Flowers' recent bid for part of Hostess Brands Inc.

Grupo Bimbo SAB de CV asked a Washington federal judge Tuesday to suspend the court-ordered shedding of parts of its Sara Lee bread business to Flowers Foods Inc., arguing Flowers' recent move to acquire the bread division of bankrupt Hostess Brands Inc. could give it an unfair competitive advantage.
