Twelve news organizations, including The Associated Press, News Corp., Gannett Co. Inc. and The New York Times Co., urged the Third Circuit Monday to affirm that a Delaware law giving the state's Court of Chancery the power to secretly arbitrate business disputes is unconstitutional.

A federal judge on Thursday cut down the Delaware Chancery Court's nonpublic arbitration program, finding that the proceedings run afoul of the First Amendment's right of access to the courts.
