Hollywood Studios Dodge Blu-Ray Class Action
A California federal judge on Friday tossed a putative class action against Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and other Hollywood studios over an alleged failure to notify consumers of digital expiration dates for Blu-ray films, ruling the suit's claims were merely speculative and could not stand.

Hollywood movie studios including Lions Gate Films Inc. and Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment LLC were hit Monday with a proposed class action accusing them of failing to adequately notify consumers that digital copies of Blu-ray movies they bought had a short shelf life.
