The Federal Trade Commission will collect $34 million that will be distributed to consumers in settlements for allegedly false weight loss product claims made by Sensa LLC, L'Occitane Inc., HCG Diet Direct LLC and LeanSpa LLC, the agency said Tuesday.

A Connecticut federal judge froze the assets of the makers of weight loss supplement NutraSlim on Monday, granting a request from the Federal Trade Commission and the state of Connecticut in a suit accusing the companies of deceptive marketing practices.
