The formerly incarcerated founder of New York-based asset management firm ThinkStrategy Capital Management LLC walked away a free man Wednesday, following the collapse of the U.S. Department of Justice's securities fraud case against him.

A federal judge on Thursday told the jailed founder of New York-based ThinkStrategy Capital Management LLC he must pay nearly $5 million for the misconduct and misrepresentations he allegedly made to investors about two hedge funds he ran.
