A group of musicians urged a California federal court on Monday to prevent a CBS Corp. unit from continuing to distribute file-sharing software online, saying they were likely to show the company induced infringement of copyrighted work.

CBS Interactive Inc. and CNET Networks Inc. fired back Friday against a bid in California federal court for an injunction on the further distribution of file-sharing software allegedly used to induce website users into illegally downloading content, saying musicians and filmmakers did not show that they face irreparable harm.
