A New York federal judge granted the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission summary judgment on Monday, in its civil claims against a former mutual fund executive convicted of defrauding investors of $13 million by claiming his fund owned stock in Facebook Inc. and Groupon Inc.

A Florida man was hit Thursday in New York federal court with criminal and civil allegations that he defrauded investors of $11 million by claiming ownership of shares of Facebook Inc. and other companies to lure them to invest with him.
