A Louisiana federal judge on Thursday slashed False Claims Act and Consumer Product Safety Act claims from a whistleblower's lawsuit alleging Evonik Stockhausen LLC manufactured defective absorbent material used in diapers and tampons it sold to the government.

The plaintiff in a whistleblower suit accusing a host of companies of violating the False Claims Act by selling the federal government supposedly defective diapers and tampons asked a Louisiana federal court Friday to drop Procter & Gamble Co, Kimberly-Clark Corp. and two other companies from the suit.

Evonik Stockhausen LLC and co-defendants including Procter & Gamble Co. and Kimberly-Clark Corp. asked a Louisiana federal judge Monday to remove them from a whistleblower suit alleging they violated the False Claims Act by selling supposedly defective diapers and tampons to the federal government.
