A Pennsylvania magistrate judge on Thursday recommended nixing six claims from a whistleblower suit alleging AT&T Corp. fraudulently billed the federal government for scammer calls made through an Internet-based service for the hearing impaired, while affirming that the government's intervening complaint was sufficiently pled.

The U.S. Department of Justice on Wednesday joined a whistleblower suit against AT&T Corp. in Pennsylvania accusing the communications giant of violating the False Claims Act by billing the federal government for international scammer calls made through its web-based call service for the hearing impaired.
