A Florida federal judge on Friday handed a six-month prison sentence to a former employee of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein for her part in a $1.2 billion scam to buy political favor by making illegal campaign contributions.

An associate of imprisoned ex-attorney Scott Rothstein, who has previously admitted to perpetrating a $1.2 billion Ponzi scheme, pled guilty in Florida federal court on Friday to trying to buy political favor by making illegal campaign contributions.
