WWE Uses 1st Amendment To Powerslam Publicity Rights Suit
A Georgia federal judge ruled Thursday that World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. was protected by the First Amendment when it used the name and likeness of former wrestler "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers, knocking out a suit claiming the company violated Somers' publicity rights.

World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. urged a Georgia federal court on Wednesday to knock out retired wrestler "Pretty Boy" Doug Somers' suit over the company's sale of DVDs using his name and likeness without authorization, arguing that he consented to the recording of his performances.
