Novellus Systems Inc. said in a regulatory filing Friday that it has reached settlements with shareholders who brought federal and state class actions in California over the semiconductor equipment maker's proposed $3.3 billion acquisition by Lam Research Corp.

A Novellus Systems Inc. shareholder hit the company, its board of directors and others with a putative class action in California federal court Friday in an attempt to halt Lam Research Corp.'s proposed $3.3 billion acquisition of the semiconductor equipment manufacturer.
