Chemed Corp. has agreed to pay $6 million to settle a putative class action in Ohio federal court accusing it of misleading shareholders about a scheme to defraud Medicare and Medicaid, according to court filings made public Thursday.

Shareholders of Cincinnati-based hospice service Chemed Corp. hit the company with a class action on Thursday, accusing it of running a scam to defraud federal health care programs that, when revealed, caused investors significant economic losses.
