A Delaware federal judge has ruled that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. must face claims that it infringed St. Clair Intellectual Property's computer power management patents, shutting down the technology giant's claim that a rule barring plaintiffs from refiling previously dismissed claims ends the case.

St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc.'s case against Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s alleged infringement of its computer power management patents is headed for mediation, joining a host of other complaints brought by St. Clair against other tech giants following a Monday order from a Delaware federal judge.

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. on Friday once more urged a Delaware federal judge to dismiss a lawsuit alleging its Android smartphones and tablets infringe St. Clair Intellectual Property Consultants Inc. computer power management patents, arguing the suit is barred because St. Clair filed and withdrew two previous complaints alleging infringement of the same patents.
