A Louisiana federal court Friday authorized an agreement between C.R. Bard Inc. and a whistleblower to end a False Claims Act suit that accused the medical technologies firm of misrepresenting catheters that were unsafe and inducing Medicare and Medicaid overbilling.

C.R. Bard Inc. urged a Louisiana federal judge Monday to scrap a False Claims Act suit claiming it fraudulently secured regulatory approval for allegedly unsafe catheters and gave doctors kickbacks that caused Medicare and Medicaid overbilling, saying the complaint differs little from a previously dismissed version.
