A former broker for MF Global Inc. will pay $500,000 to the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to settle New York federal court claims that he manipulated prices for metals contracts, the CFTC announced Friday.

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission has agreed in principle to the terms of a settlement with an ex-MF Global Inc. broker accused of manipulating the prices of palladium and platinum futures contracts on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to documents filed Wednesday in New York federal court.
