An Alabama federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a former defense contractor involved in a $23 million scheme to manipulate U.S. Army contracts in Iraq to more than two years in prison and ordered him to pay $1.1 million in restitution.

A former defense contractor on Tuesday pled guilty to conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud and filing false tax returns for accepting kickbacks as part of a $23 million scheme while managing U.S. Army contracts in Iraq.
