A federal judge said Monday that Bristol-Myers Squibb Co.'s practice of subsidizing patients' drug copays didn't constitute illegal bribery, dismissing a putative class action brought by insurers that complain the payments push patients to choose brand-name drugs over cheaper generics.

JPML Won't Centralize Drug Co-Pay Coupon Class Actions
The Judicial Panel for Multidistrict Litigation on Thursday declined to centralize in Illinois seven class actions accusing GlaxoSmithKline LLC, Pfizer Inc. and seven other major drugmakers of racketeering and antitrust violations for allegedly subsidizing illegal co-payments for brand-name prescription drugs.
