A Montana federal judge on Thursday ruled that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency cannot disclose data about PPL Montana LLC's Colstrip power plant until the court decides on the company's preliminary injunction bid after it claimed the data includes trade secrets.

PPL Montana LLC sued the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on Monday to stop it from handing two environmental groups data about upgrades at a Montana coal-fired plant, arguing the move would reveal confidential business information to competitors.
