A California federal judge on Wednesday threw out allegations that Nero Inc.'s software for burning data onto DVDs and Blu-rays infringed JVC Kenwood Corp.'s standards-essential patents covering the manufacture of optical discs, saying the patent rights end when discs are sold to consumers.
