Patton Boggs, Others Shoot Down Malpractice Suit With Gunn
An Illinois federal judge on Thursday threw out a third-party complaint accusing Patton Boggs LLP, Barnes & Thornburg LLP and Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP of patent malpractice, finding the federal court system no longer has jurisdiction because of the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Gunn v. Minton.

Patton Boggs LLP, Barnes & Thornburg LLP and Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP on Tuesday urged an Illinois federal judge to toss a third-party complaint against them in a patent malpractice case, arguing that the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling in Gunn v. Minton strips jurisdiction from the federal court.
