Animal Rights Groups Lose Battle With USDA Over Foie Gras
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Wednesday successfully fended off a lawsuit brought by numerous animal rights groups over its 2009 decision not to ban foie gras made with the livers of force-fed poultry from the food supply, after a California judge found the agency's reasoning plausible.

Foie Gras Critics Can't Prove Health Risk, USDA Says
The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Friday pushed a California federal court for a quick win over animal rights activists suing the agency for its decision not to ban foie gras, maintaining that the activists can't sue because there's no evidence that eating fatty goose liver is dangerous to humans, and adding that no one is forcing them to eat it.
