A Texas federal judge on Tuesday signed off on a $50,000 settlement between the receiver of Kaleta Capital Management Inc. and an investment firm that acquired through an allegedly sham transaction a company involved in a $10 million fraudulent securities offering orchestrated by Kaleta.

A Texas federal judge approved a settlement Friday between four insurance company units and the receiver of a now-defunct capital management firm over the objections of Houston radio host Daniel Frishberg, whose company allegedly received $6.7 million in a fraudulent securities offering involving the firm.
