Prudential Escapes Suit Over 'Worthless' Wartime Policies
A New Jersey federal judge on Tuesday dismissed claims by a proposed class of former defense contractor workers who said their employers and Prudential Insurance Co. of America sold them policies that were worthless because of a wartime exclusion, saying the claims are preempted by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

A proposed class of former defense contractor employees sued their employers and Prudential Insurance Co. of America in New Jersey federal court Monday, accusing the companies of selling them policies it knew they couldn't use because of a wartime exclusion.
