An Ohio federal judge approved a deal Monday in which the U.S. government will pay General Electric Co. $11 million and 67 percent of future response costs to settle a suit over hazardous waste cleanup at a former U.S. Air Force site.

General Electric Co. on Monday lodged a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act suit against the U.S. government in Ohio federal court, seeking a contribution toward the $15 million it's spent on hazardous waste cleanup efforts at a former U.S. Air Force engine plant.
