A New Jersey restaurateur accused of copying the identity of top-rated New York City restaurant Il Mulino escaped federal court sanctions Tuesday when he told a judge he has changed his eatery's name and will immediately remove a sign bearing the name of the nationally known chain.

New York restaurant chain Il Mulino, which has eateries in Chicago, Tokyo and other locations, will seek contempt sanctions Tuesday against a New Jersey restaurant that is allegedly copying its name, advertising and dining room layout, according to Il Mulino's attorney.
