A federal judge on Friday said GlaxoSmithKline LLC, Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc. and several other companies don't have to contribute to a cleanup effort at a polluted Ohio landfill because the companies seeking payment are limited to a statutory claim that is time-barred.

Three companies tasked with investigating and cleaning up hazardous wastes at an Ohio landfill lodged a suit against Coca-Cola Enterprises Inc., GlaxoSmithKline LLC and Sherwin-Williams Co. on Thursday seeking financial contribution for testing and remediation activities at the site.
