Judge Shoots Holes In Wells Flood Insurance Class Cert.
A California federal judge Thursday lambasted the proposed certification of a class of homeowners who say Wells Fargo Bank NA received kickbacks for and misrepresented the cost of flood and hazard insurance it forced borrowers to buy, accusing plaintiffs' attorneys of "overreaching" in their efforts to represent a nationwide class.

Wells Fargo Says Its Flood Insurance Policies Are Legal
Wells Fargo Bank NA urged a California federal judge Thursday to dismiss a class action alleging it demanded excess hazard and flood insurance for homeowners with Wells Fargo mortgages in order to pocket higher commissions, arguing that it's legally allowed to impose such policies.
