Abbott, AbbVie Pay $25M Over Off-Label Promos, Kickbacks
Abbott Laboratories and AbbVie Inc. will fork over $25 million to end a whistleblower's False Claims Act case alleging off-label promotion of triglyceride drug TriCor and unlawful kickbacks in the form of gift baskets and gift cards, the U.S. Department of Justice said Friday.

A Pennsylvania federal judge overseeing parts of a whistleblower case against Abbott Laboratories over alleged kickbacks and off-label marketing ordered the drugmaker on Thursday to produce some deposition testimony from an earlier antitrust case concerning cholesterol drug TriCor, finding there is some subject matter overlap.
