Two Cigna Corp. subsidiaries and a pair of companies owned by an anesthesiologist the insurer was suing for allegedly collecting more than $2.5 million in improper claims in violation of the Employment Retirement Income Security Act told a Texas federal judge Monday they had reached a settlement.

Two Cigna Corp. subsidiaries filed suit in Texas federal court on Thursday alleging a pair of companies owned by an anesthesiologist violated the Employment Retirement Income Security Act by collecting more than $2.5 million in improper health care claims.
