LG Electronics asked a Delaware federal court to toss a suit filed by Toshiba Samsung Storage Technology Wednesday, saying the company never secured rights needed to claim infringement of patents for disc and optical drives.

LG Electronics Inc. on Wednesday went after a computer hardware group set up by Toshiba Corp. and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., alleging in Delaware federal court that the venture is infringing a series of patents incorporated in disc drives and DVD writers.
