A California federal judge ruled Friday that a Seiko Epson Corp. unit accused in multidistrict litigation of price-fixing with other liquid crystal display panel makers is not covered under a policy with Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd., saying its alleged cover-up does not constitute advertising.

Epson Electronics America Inc. on Friday hit Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co. Ltd. with a lawsuit seeking coverage for 12 underlying antitrust suits in the wide-ranging multidistrict litigation against liquid crystal display makers.
