A California federal judge on Tuesday tossed a false claims and copyright suit launched against Foray Technologies Inc. — which makes software for authenticating crime-scene photos — by competitor Kwan Software Engineering Inc., ruling the plaintiff did not properly back up its misleading statements claim.

Crime-Scene Photo Software Co. Wants Copyright Suit Nixed
A company that makes software for authenticating crime-scene photos urged a California federal judge on Friday to end a rival's copyright and false claims case against it, arguing that it accurately tells customers how its software authenticates photos and therefore doesn't violate the Lanham Act.
