A co-creator of FX Networks LLC's "The League" urged a New York federal court Tuesday to dismiss copyright infringement claims against him, arguing that the television program bore little resemblance to a show idea by the two writers who lodged the suit.

Two writers accused FX Networks LLC on Thursday of unfairly using their idea for a television show involving group of friends in a fantasy football league as the basis for its hit show "The League."
