A New Jersey federal judge preliminarily approved a class action settlement Monday involving BMW of North America LLC, in which plaintiffs alleged the luxury carmaker improperly sold demonstration vehicles as new, cheating customers of warranty coverage.

BMW Tries To Dodge Demo Buyers' Warranty Coverage Suit
BMW of North America LLC on Friday said the named plaintiff in a proposed class action alleging the company improperly sells demonstration vehicles as new has suffered no damages and therefore lacks standing to pursue any of his legal claims, nor, as a nonresident, can he invoke the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act.
