A California federal judge on Wednesday approved a $1.5 million settlement between Home Depot USA and fired workers who said the retailer was slow to pay final checks, after previously expressing concern about what percentage of the settlement would go to class members.

A California federal judge on Thursday said she would likely deny a $1.4 million settlement between Home Depot USA and a class of 6,650 fired workers who say the retailer violated labor laws by not paying final checks promptly, saying she was "uncomfortable" with a provision in the deal.
